Lambro - Oil painting of a race horse - Commission
Lambro - Oil painting of a race horse
This was something quite new for me, for although, I'd painted a few horses in my early years of development as a painter, it was the first proper commission of an equine portrait. It was commissioned by the wife of one of the owners of Lambro, and it apparently went down a treat as an unexpected Christmas gift. I think I new it was ok, once a jockey unexpectedly called into the old Keeling Gallery which I used to run, and complimented me on the rendering of the horse's muscle and tendon structure. What he said went slightly over my head, but nice to have a nod of approval from someone in the game.
Oil on canvas
45x35cm or 18x14 inches
